Model SC8000 Ringelmann Smoke Chart is an observation method for smoke by its visual blackness. Though this method can not replace the actual measurement of smoke density as it is hard to identify the accurate correspondence between visual blackness and the harmful substance content, it is an easy and inexpensive way to observe smoke that is generally used by many countries.
